Members are kindly requested to refer to the previous Japan P&I News No.960 regarding Navigation Warning after the fishing ban in Chinese Water. In 2019 year, there's no announcement of Ministry of Agriculture on adjustment of annual summer fishing ban regime. On the other hand, Huatai Insurance Agency & Consultant Service Ltd., our correspondent in Beijing, China advised that one document was issued on 6 May 2019 regarding the special fishing permits in this year, which regulate the fishing period and location of jellyfish and silver anchovy during the ban period:

Shandong Province: 35°00’N - 38°30’N

Sea areas under the jurisdiction of Shandong province within the line of closed fishing area for bottom trawl fisher.

 

Jiangsu Province: 33°00’N - 34°00’N

Sea areas under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu province within the line of closed fishing area for bottom trawl fisher.

 

Shanghai City: Within 161,162,168,169,175,176 fishing area under the jurisdiction of Shanghai;




Zhejiang province: 174,175,176,182,183,190,218 fishing areas

 

2. Clearance of operation time
   The operation time starts from 12 am on 10th of July to 12 am on 15th August. The operation time should be no more than 10 days.

2. Clearance of fishing sliver anchovy
1. Clearance of operation waters
   Between 27°20’N - 29°20’N, 20 miles west of line of closed fishing area to fishing are a within the closed line.

   From 6th May to 15th June

3. Clearance of auxiliary fishing boat
1. Clearance of operation waters
   Between 26°30’N - 35°00’N

 

2. Clearance of operation time
   From 12:00am on 1st August to 12:00am on 16th September

Finally, we would like to draw your attention to that all navigating vessels in these areas should sail cautiously to avoid collision with fishing boats between August and October, for which the summer fishing ban period comes to end and the fishing season starts.
