Conflicts in Ukraine (No.2)

We would like to report the latest updates in Ukraine and Russia. As to the former relative information, please refer to our Japan P&I News No.1148 dated 25 February 2022.

 

Ukraine:

Martial law still has been introduced in Ukraine and there is a curfew. All the Ukrainian Ports are closed for inward/outward passages. Some ships were damaged as a result of explosion by Russian Navy in Azov Sea.

 

 

Russia:

Russian ports continue their normal operations, but Azov Sea is closed. The local correspondents reported that the Azov Sea and a North-east area of Black Sea are unsafe for vessels.

 

International flights are restricted in Russia. UK bans port access to Russian-flagged, registered, owned, controlled, chartered, or operated vessels.

 

Sanctions applied by the US related to top of Russian banks; VTB, Sovcombank, Bank Otkrytie and Novicom Bank are added to SDN List. Some transactions through Sberbank, Gazprombank, Rosselkhozbank, Moscow Credit Bank, Alfa-Bank are restricted. The US and EU have adopted a ban on any transactions with the Central Bank of Russia.
