Prioritised ship types for Condition Survey for entered ships

3 December 2021 No.21-011

The Association conducts condition surveys by third-party organisations for ships that have reached a certain age. From the standpoint of P&I insurers, we aim to prevent all accidents, large and small, by detecting risk factors that lead to insurance accidents at an early stage and maintaining the seaworthiness/cargo worthiness of the ships above a certain level.

Ships subject to the condition survey are as described on our website, but as a present preventative measures in a situation where it is difficult to inspect a ship in the COVID-19 pandemic, in consideration of the risk of claimoccurring, we will focus on the following ship types in particular among the target ships.
