Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)-Enhanced Quarantine Measures in Korea (No.8)

We would like to report the latest announcement of enhanced quarantine measures by Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. As to the former relative information, please refer to Japan P&I News No.1095, No.1098, No.1100, No.1103, No.1105, No.1106 and No.1109.

 

The high risk countries have been changed as follows and thus, the current high risk countries are Russia, Philippines, the U.K., South Africa, France, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.

As we announced on Japan P&I News No.1095, if PCR negative certificates are not submitted, penal servitude not more than 1 year or a fine not exceeding KRW10,000,000 per person shall be imposed. In addition to that, as of 7 April 2021, if invalid PCR negative certificates are submitted, a fine of KRW1,000,000 per crew shall be imposed.,

 

Also, we announced on Japan P&I News No.1105 that PCR negative certificates issued at the country of embarking port had to be submitted. This time, we have been informed by our local correspondent in Korea that the certificates are not restricted to the country of embarking port. However, there is no official document mentioning these updates, please check the details with a quarantine office through local agents before calling at a Korean port. Please note that for the crews who embark in the high risk countries, PCR negative certificates must be issued by the designated facilities, which is the same as before.
