We have obtained the information from Del Rosario & Del Rosario, our correspondents in Manila, concerning the reportorial requirements on the shipowners and manning agencies under the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers (Republic Act No. 12021, hereafter “Magna Carta”).

The Magna Carta requires reporting of critical incidents involving Filipino seafarers, such as accidents, death, piracy, abandonment, or other emergencies, and of all medical incidents onboard, including those that do not lead to repatriation. Please find the attached correspondent’s circular.
