We would like to introduce our members new version BMP5 (Best Management Practices to Deter and Enhance Maritime Security in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea) which has now been released.
BMP5, published in cooperation with the International Group of P&I Clubs, cover “Deter and Enhance Maritime Security in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea, while BMP4 was focusing Somalia Based Piracy. The following things are newly introduced but not limited to;

• New security threats
• Maritime security charts
• Recommendation of shipping companies only employ PMSCs who are accredited to the current ISO28007-1:2015
• UKMTO suspicious/irregular activity report
• Revised Follow-up report to MSCHOA and UKMTO
• “Voyage reference card” for summary of BMP implementation
