Argentine Coast Guard Authorities require an additional ”under keel clearance”  for those vessels sailing through the River Plate basin and River Parana

We have obtained the information on the captioned topic by our correspondent in Buenos Aires, Pandi Liquidadores S.R.L.. Please find the attached notice issued by local Coast Guard and free English translation provided by the correspondent.

In addition to the normal “under keel clearance”(UKC) 0.6m for vessels with drafts over 10.36m in River Plate basin and River Parana, some extra UKC will be required as below,

1.Section Parana River (Timbues – San Martin – San Lorenzo Ports) – Parana de las Palmas River up to Km. 57:
 1-1. For drafs equal or over 10.37 and up to 10.49 meters, an increase of THREE centimeters (3 cm) per additional centimeter of draft.-
 1-2. For drafts equal or over 10.50 meters, TEN per cent (10%) of the static draft.-

2.Section Parana de las Palmas River from Km. 57 up to Recalada Pilot Station:
 2-1. For drafts equal or over 10.37 and up to 10.67 meters, an increase of ONE COMMA FIVE centimeters (1,5 cm) per additional centimeter of draft.-
 2-2. For drafts equal or over 10.68 meters, TEN per cent (10%) of the static draft.-

3.In both cases, thousandths shall be rounded to the nearest whole hundredths, that is, if the number ends in five (5) or higher, it shall be rounded up and if it is four (4) or less, it shall be rounded down.-
