Alteration to the Plan of Business Operations & the Rules of the Association

| The Plan of Business Operations | ||
| Please refer to our Special Circulars No.10-004 (14th June 2010:Report on the 569th Meeting of the Board of Directors) and No.10-008 (21st July 2010:The 60th Ordinary General Meeting of the Members of the Association). With effect from 20th February 2011 some of the articles of the Plan of Business Operations will be amended for the reasons set out below. Copies of the amended articles are attached for your reference. | ||
| 1. | Article 7-5 (Procedures of Conclusion of Insurance Contract) | |
| This Article is revised to be consistent with Article 6- 2 of the Insurance Law of Japan. | ||
| 2. | Article 11-1 (Return of Insurance Calls and Premiums) | |
| This Article is revised to ensure that the Association returns calls and premiums for the period a ship is laid up in a safe place and not only in a safe port. | ||
| 3. | Article 12-1 (Application Form and Insurance policy) | |
| This Article is revised to enable Members to choose the form of a Certificate of Entry ("CoE") and a Certificate of Membership ("CoM") which may now be issued as a paper certificate or in an electronic format. | ||
| The Rules of the Association (1) | ||
| Please refer to our Special Circular No.10-004. With effect from 20th February 2011 Rule 1-4 will be amended for the reason set out below. A Copy of the amended Rule is attached for your reference. | ||
| Rule 1-4 (Conclusion of Insurance Contract) | ||
| This Rule is revised to enable the Members to choose the form and manner of issuance of a CoE and a CoM as either a paper certificate or in an electronic format. | ||
| The Rules of the Association (2) | ||
| Please refer to our Special Circulars No.10-028 (9th February 2011:Report on the 572nd Meeting of the Board of Directors). With effect from 18th March 2011 a new Rule1-6 will be established for the reason set out below. A Copy of the new Rule is attached for your reference. | ||
| Rule 1-6 (Conclusion of Insurance Contract) | ||
| This Rule defines a "Statement of Call/Premium" which may be issued as a substitute for a CoE and/or a CoM pursuant to the alteration of Articles 12-1-(3)&(4) of the Plan of Business Operations as mentioned above. |
