Hosting a Seminar at Japan Coast Guard School

6 December 2021

To the Members

The Association is pleased to inform you that we hosted a safety seminar regarding “Human Factors and BRM” to the Japan Coast Guard School (School master Mr Kaiji Eguchi at Maizuru Kyoto) on 30 November 2021 (Speaker: Toru Asai Genaral Mamnager and Takehiko Hino Manager of the Loss Prevention and Ship Inspection Department).

BRM (Bridge Resource Management) is the effective use all range of resources available on the bridge for safe and efficient operation of the vessel according to defined standards.

The Association has been collaborating with the Japan Coast Guard, such as participating in their Expert Study Group to amend maritime laws. We will continue to make our contribution in loss prevention activities to reduce marine accidents by providing our expertise and knowledge cultivated over many years in collaboration with maritime government agencies. Furthermore, we will support training opportunities to young professionals involved in the Japanese Shipping industry, such as hosting this seminar.
