Guinea-Caution to Robberies at Conakry

27 October 2021 No.1140

We have received the following information from our local correspondent in Guinea, TCI Africa Conakry.

A few days ago, at Conakry, our local correspondent attended a vessel where crew members were severely beaten by robbers, who also looted cashes, mobile phones and electric items this week. Fortunately, there was no loss of life.

Currently, it is highly recommended at Conakry that if vessels are not berthing on arrival (after tendering NOR), that they go out to open sea, remain cautious and await until berth is available.

Please note that the change of local situation is so unforeseeable, that the above is to be updated accordingly. We recommend that members to check the latest information at the time of vessel’s calling through local agents in Guinea.
