Alteration to the description on a Certificate of Entry

27 February 2012 No.11-026
With effect from the 2012 Policy Year, an alteration to the description on a Certificate of Entry (hereinafter referred to "CoE") is being made. Our coverage is not affected by this alteration. The details of the alteration are as follows:

1. Details of the alteration

The information on crew cover which has been described in "Risks Covered", on page 2 of a "CoE" will not appear in a "CoE", which is to be issued from the 2012 Policy Year.

----------------------------------

EXAMPLE

The following sentence in respect of crew cover can be seen in "Risks Covered" on a 2011 Policy Year "CoE":

"Filipino crew claims to be settled in accordance with the contract approved by the Association."

However, there will be no such description for crew cover as set out above in "Risks Covered" on a 2012 Policy Year "CoE".

----------------------------------

In accordance with this alteration, a new "CoE" reflecting the amendment will not be issued whenever such alteration to crew information occurs. This will help the Members and avoid the burdensome task of having to replace the "CoE"s carried on board the entered vessel.

Should the member request the continuous description of crew cover on a "CoE", please let us know. An endorsement stating crew cover will then be issued.

2.Disclosure of crew information

Members are requested to disclose information in respect of crew (Nationality and Number) in an "Application for Membership" or "Application for Entry" even after the description about information of crew on a "CoE" is omitted. In compliance with our Rule 2 (Duties of Disclosure and Notification), Members are required without delay, to notify the Association in writing of any alteration to crew information whenever such an alteration occurs.

Should you have any enquiries or questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
