Conflicts in the Middle East
We have received information from our correspondents in Saudi Arabia, Mutual Marine Services Al Mushtaraka Ltd., regarding the recent update of the situation in Middle East as of 4 March 2026 following attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran.
Strait of Hormuz
Remains closed, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) having effectively enforced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, with the Strait now in a de facto shutdown.
Port Situation:
All Ports in UAE are operating.
Oman - Salalah & Duqum are not working, (they were hit yesterday). Sohar / Muscat are working.
Qatar, ports are working.
Kuwait, ports are not working. At the time of writing (around 11:36 am AST, 4 March 2026), Mutual Marine Services Al Mushtaraka Ltd. reported ships were berthing/un-berthing, so the port may start working again soon.
Iraq, ports are operating normally.
Bahrain, suspended operations.
Saudi Arabia, all ports on the Arabian Gulf side are operational. Red Sea Ports are currently not affected and operating normally.
The situation remains highly fluid and unpredictable. Please act with the utmost caution, prioritising Crew Safety and Vessel Security over all commercial instructions.
