28 March 2016 No. 809
We have obtained information on the captioned topic by our correspondent in China, Huatai Insurance Agency & Consultant Service Ltd.  Please find the attached circular.

Addition to the circular, we have obtained following information from our correspondents.

  • According to the information we have obtained locally, Tianjin port and ports on Yangtze river including Shanghai, Nantong, Zhangjiagang, etc. don’t require mosquito eradication certificate. But the vessels will be subject to CIQ on board inspection in terms of mosquito.

  • Regarding the requirement of Mosquito Eradication Certificate, the requirement only applies to vessels calling directly from a Zika virus affected country to China. The notice doesn’t specify any time period in this respect. Anyway, as the practice may vary at different ports, members are recommended to check with the local agent prior to ship’s calling.

We hope it will be of help to you with regard to the safe voyage.
