The Cargo Incident Notification System (CINS) has released new guidelines, titled "CINS Guidelines for Shipping Lithium-ion Cells and Batteries in Containers."

These guidelines provide shipping lines, operators, and forwarders with practical guidance for the safe carriage of lithium-ion cells and batteries, classified under UN 3480 and UN 3481, in Cargo Transport Units (CTUs) such as containers.
