Updates of the List of National Operational Contact Points for SOPEP/SMPEP (30 January 2026)
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has updated the national contact points for urgent reports on incidents involving harmful substances, including oil from ships on 30 January 2026.
The list of contact points is required to be kept on board alongside the SOPEP/SMPEP and is subject to verification during the Port State Control (PSC) inspections. We recommend that the current version on board be replaced with the latest edition.
The updated list is issued annually at the end of January. Quarterly updates are subsequently issued on 30 April, 31 July and 31 October of each year. The most recent annual circular and quarterly updates are available from IMO website for download.
